The Boy Illinois: (Billy Dalton) is a Chicago native that comes from a very musical family. His Father was once a singer, and Sister Qiana Brock is a singer/song writer. He began his musical path at the age of 13 rapping at his local grade school where he hooked up with two other rappers, and they formed a group that is now goes by the name F.A.(Family Affair). These three musicians have put out 3 mixtapes in the Chicago land area to date, but The Boy Illinois is currently slated to release his first solo project. The 21 year old MC/College Student is gearing up to release his first solo mixtape entitled Inhale pt. 1 State Representative. More so an album than a mixtape, he plans to grasp the ears of listeners with a slick delivery and sharp wordplay, his style would be described as Lupe Fiasco meets Fabolous. This 16 track tape is set to release in September of 2008, as well as his first video for the song entitled “One Love”, which samples Nas’ Illmatic Version of the song “One Love”. As Far as the Group goes, the other two members go by the Names of Tre-Style and Young Rel. Every band member has a distinct sound and delivery which compliment each other well. They have been mislead and let down by past managers and mentors, but more or less has used that as a growing process to strive toward their goals. With an album in the works, which is currently untitled at the time, they feel as though success is right around the corner. There is no other way but to go up, and after the release of his first video and mixtape that is where this young artist plans to go. To follow in the footsteps of many other great MC’s that hail from Chicago, but yet carve his own place in music and in history at the same time. Be on the lookout for Inhale pt. 1 State Representative and Inhale pt. 2 Position in Power, which he is currently working on at the moment.
